8 Things You Can Do To Regain Motivation
Mamas, I get it. I know how hard it can be to fight through burnout, especially if you are also a mompreneur. Being a mom is the hardest job on this planet (fight me…haha), but when you have the added stress of owning a business, sometimes, the stresses of everyday life and battling motivation burnout can be overwhelming.
Peek Inside My Crazy World ( I Get You!)
Over the last year, I have added twins to my resume. Giving me a total of 4 kiddos! Nikola is 9, Sagan is 6, and the twins, Luke and Scarlett, are 13 months old. So for the first few months after their birth, my blog, social media, and business took a backseat to creating a new normal for my family. Sadly, after a few months off it became easier and easier to say, “I’ll get to it next week.” So, I get you! I understand the struggle of having no motivation. Let’s do this together! We can do this! Let’s jump back in!

Remember Your Why
Above all else, I think the most important thing you can do to regain motivation is to remember your why.
What is your why?
Every business and every dream starts with a purpose. It is what lit your fire in the first place. Remind yourself of this on the days when you don’t want to keep going. This is the time to get yourself back to the basics. I started this business to be able to take care of my family financially and still be able to stay at home. Plus, this business has the bonus of giving back to other moms. I love teaching other moms how to start their businesses, which gives them the freedom to stay at home with their little loves.
Running low on motivation? Now is the time to remind yourself of your why.
Change Of Scenery
Sometimes, I have to get out of my head. There are times that I am so wrapped up in wanting to come up with a new idea or revamping content that I stunt my creativity because I am so stressed out about it. These are the times that I need to step away. Go for a walk or a drive. You might be surprised at what inspirations await you.

Stay Positive
The popular saying goes, “you are what you think.” As cheesy (and overused) as this might be, it has a lot of truth. The outcome of your day, business, marriage, or anything is ultimately a result of your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Your feelings and thoughts dictate your actions. You don’t want to find yourself stuck in a negative cycle.
Reset And Reevaluate
I know you have heard the quote, “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result.” If you are like me, I catch myself rolling my eyes when I hear this because it has been overly used. However, it holds an immense amount of truth to it. If something isn’t working, then it isn’t working. It won’t matter how many times you try it…it won’t work.
Recently, I had to get honest with myself on this very topic. The truth is that even if you believe wholeheartedly that something should work, that doesn’t mean it will. I have had several times in my business over the years where I have this great idea, and I KNOW it will work because it makes so much sense or sounds so good to me in my head and heart. However, if it isn’t converting into new clients, revenue, sales, followers, etc…then it isn’t working, no matter how good it sounds in your head. Sometimes, you have to take a step back and reset and reevaluate.
Take some time to reset your mind and refocus on the intentions of your business. What is it you want your business to say? What are your large and small goals for this business?

Embrace “WTF” (No, Not That “WTF”)
Over the last few years, I have had to learn that life is going to happen. The brutal truth is that you aren’t always in control of what happens in your life, but you can’t control the way you react to what is happening in your life. You can’t look at every failure as a “sign” to quit, or you will never make your dreams come true.
So embrace “WTF!” Willing To Fail! You have to be willing to fail, or you will never succeed. Success doesn’t happen without taking the first step, no matter how scary it might be. To succeed, you have to learn to leap! Learn from your mistakes and keep moving forward.
Start Small And Simplify
Many times my lack of motivation comes from feeling overwhelmed. When this happens, I must remind myself to start small and simplify. If you look at your to-do list and only see the large tasks that need to be accomplished, you might shut yourself down. To avoid giving up before you even get started, try breaking up your large tasks into smaller tasks. You will feel a sense of accomplishment when you mark them off the list. Remember to give yourself credit when you accomplish the big (and small) tasks.
Ask For Help
This one can be a tough one for me. Honestly, it is very difficult for me to ask for help. However, I have learned over the past year that sometimes, asking for help is necessary. You can’t always do it alone. True strength comes from admitting you can’t always do it alone. Plus, you might find motivation in working with someone. I know that I find motivation in bouncing ideas off of a friend.

Be Kind To Yourself And Give Grace
Remember to be kind to yourself. Don’t expect a miraculous change overnight. Show yourself the same patience and grace you would to a family member, client, or friend.
I hope that you find these tips to regain motivation to be inspirational to get you moving again in your goals, businesses, and dreams.

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
